looking for housemates in yellowknife :)

My lovely housemates are moving towards bigger dreams, so I’m looking for new ones. 💕

Move in August 1st or later.

This is a sunny 4-bedroom house— usually with 3 of us living here. We try to keep the fourth bedroom for office/yoga/quiet space of if you have guests from out of town! We are looking for housemates 25-35 (other ages considered!), with a life mission, passionate about what they do⚡️. Working professionals are probably a good fit for this space— in terms of logistics and how we use the space. We try to observe quiet hours of 10pm to 6am, and once or twice a month we fail badly 🍷. This house is a safe space. 🏡🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🙋🏽‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️🙆🏻‍♂️💁🏿‍♂️

I am an engineer, I work on climate change, I am a 33 years old. I was born in Montreal 🥯, but I have been living on Yellowknife (Chief Drygeese Territory) since 2017. More about me at williamgagnon.ca or on insta/twitter at @wgagnon.

Rent is $1300 per month, all inclusive : one bedroom, water, heating, electricity, internet (unlimited data, 200 mbps, we have excellent mesh routers in the house), biweekly cleaning services (vacuum, mop, washrooms), one large living room, one large dining room, space for a work desk if you need one, laundry room with washing machine and dryer and space to hang clothes, dishwasher, wood stove, microwave, espresso machine, vitamix, dyson vacuum, electrified parking, and more. There is lots of inside and outside storage spaces for your bike, seasonal gear, canoes, kayaks, etc. You can bring your furniture (bed, chest, etc.), but the place can be furnished if you need it to be. Very connected house! You can control the temperature, the lights and the garden from your phone.

The house is a 8 minutes walk to downtown, 2 minutes walk to Great Slave Lake, 1 minute walk to Tin Can Hill (great park for running, skiing, snowmobiling), 10 minutes walk to Rat Lake (community hockey rink), 14 min walk to the grocery store and drug store, 20 min walk to car share drop off point, 17 min to the brewpub.

We have a fun outside yard, and I have big gardening projects for next summer if that’s your thing! (I am hoping to build more garden beds and a chicken coop!) 🐣👩🏼‍🌾🥬🍅

We are flexible on availability— we could accommodate you right now if you needed, or ideally August 1st 2025.
